Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Matthew graduated from Farragut High School and went on to attend The University of Tennessee for his bachelor’s degree. During undergrad, Matthew studied Chinese history and religion, language, and literature. After attending the University of Hawaii, Manoa to receive his degree, he taught courses in religious studies and Chinese civilization at his alma mater. Matthew returned to Knoxville and continued to teach religious studies and Chinese civilization at Maryville College until he started law school in 2011. Matthew graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Law in 2014 and spent six years as a law clerk, Chief Deputy Clerk and Master of the Knox County Chancery Court.
In September 2020, Matthew joined the Bernstein, Stair & McAdams firm. Matthew is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association and Tennessee Bar Association. In his free time, he enjoys fly fishing and spending quality family time with his wife and two daughters.
