Biography

Mr. Stair was born in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1944. He graduated from The Hotchkiss School in 1962. He graduated from Yale University, receiving a B.A. in American Studies in 1966. He was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1972. Mr. Stair was a member of the Coif and Editor-in-Chief of the Tennessee Law Review in 1971 and 1972.

Mr. Stair joined the firm in 1973 and retired in late 2016. Mr. Stair was a member of the Knoxville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Knoxville Trial Lawyers Association, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and a Fellow in the Tennessee Bar Foundation.

Mr. Stair practiced in the fields of business and construction litigation, general civil litigation, and domestic relations.
